Who can apply You may apply if you are an institution of higher learning, meaning: Any college or university accredited by a regionalized body or bodies approved for such purpose by the Secretary of Education. Any teaching hospital which has higher learning among its purposes and functions and which has a formal affiliation with an accredited school of medicine and a full-time academic medical staff holding faculty status in such school of medicine. Types of eligible organizations These types of domestic* organizations may apply. Public institutions of higher education. Non-profit private institutions of higher education. Native American tribal governments and organizations that are institutions of higher learning (education). See 42 CFR 51a.3(b). Individuals are not eligible applicants under this NOFO. *Domestic means the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau.
